The First Nations Health Managers Association will be offering Course 200 – Leadership and Strategy in an Intensive format in Edmonton, AB, on November 27 – December 1, 2017. Course 200 is the second of our five courses and provides the health manager with key insights into leadership and an assessment of their leadership situation. The lessons will cover how to effectively facilitate problem-solving and decision-making as a leader in your organization. These skills rely on the ability to work with people, to deal with change, to facilitate the development of strategy and to create implementation and evaluation plans. Moreover, the importance of the accountability of a leader in terms of policy and performance management is stressed. The course will bring together key elements of leadership that will enhance your leadership capacity.

The course takes place over a nine week period. Students will receive their course materials and should begin the required readings, then, in November students will attend the on-site training. Students are required to complete two assignments by specific due dates, once the final assignment is handed in this will conclude Course 200 – Leadership and Strategy. This course will be taught by one of our experienced and friendly CFNHM instructors who is there to help guide participants through the course material and ensure that all participants leave with a valuable learning experience.
