Course 400 – Health Management Services 2 in Winnipeg, MB

The First Nations Health Managers Association will be offering Course 400 – Health Management Services 2 in an Intensive format on October 23-27, 2017, in Winnipeg, MB. Course 400 is the fourth of our five courses and provides health managers with information and knowledge about support services and the resources necessary to develop and deliver health services. The lessons will address the most valuable resource of any organization – their human capital. The people and practices side of human resource management must operate effectively in order to develop and deliver health services. The lessons also address the importance of meetings. In order for people to get things done, meetings are held to make decisions. To ensure their success, it is critical that key meeting elements come together. When people work together in meetings or otherwise, negotiations have a tendency to occur and conflicts can arise that must be resolved. One of the lessons will address how to move things forward in terms of negotiations and conflict resolution, to help efficiently plan, deliver and evaluate services.

The course takes place over a nine week period. Students will receive their course materials and should begin the required readings, then, from October 23 – 27, students will attend the on-site training in Winnipeg, MB. Students are required to complete two assignments by specific due dates, once the final assignment is handed in this will conclude Course 400 – Health Management Services 2. This course will be taught by one of our experienced and friendly CFNHM instructors who is there to help guide participants through the course material and ensure that all participants leave with a valuable learning experience.
