Course 300 – Health Management Services 1 in Edmonton, AB

Course 300 Health Management Services 1 will be offered in an intensive format in Edmonton, AB from May 7 – 11, 2018.

Course 300 is the third of five courses in the First Nations Health Managers Program leading to the Certified First Nations Health Manager (CFNHM) professional designation. The lessons in this course will demonstrate how understanding community needs are a key component of health service development, delivery, and evaluation. This understanding will help you to engage your community and provide relevant program communications. The importance of considering quality and risk issues when developing and improving health services is also examined. Finally, the lessons will address the retention, promotion, and growth of partnerships and relationships with other organizations/governments through advocacy efforts; which are necessary to support health services delivery.

The course takes place over a nine week period. Students will receive their course materials and should begin the required readings, then, from May 7 – 11, 2018, students will attend the on-site training. Students are required to complete two assignments by specific due dates, once the final assignment is handed in this will conclude Course 300 – Health Management Services 1. This course will be taught by one of our experienced and friendly CFNHM instructors who is there to help guide participants through the course material and ensure that all participants leave with a valuable learning experience.
