The data published by Statistics Canada include only those cases for which detailed information was reported by provincial or territorial public health authorities to The Public Health Agency (PHAC). These data may not match the total number of cases reported at the provincial and territorial levels. These are reported regularly by each jurisdiction and compiled by The Public Health Agency (PHAC). The discrepancy in case numbers may be attributable to delays in reporting, and variability in reporting cut-offs. Hence, these data are a subset of the total of all reported cases in Canada.
