Projects
Through our project work, FNHMA contributes expertise in health leadership, planning, governance, and capacity development to initiatives that support healthier, stronger First Nations communities. These collaborations allow us to share knowledge, co-develop innovative tools and resources, and ensure that First Nations perspectives, priorities, and values are at the centre of every effort to improve health systems.
By working together, we help create sustainable pathways that build capacity, enhance wellness, and promote excellence in First Nations health management.
Below is a compilation of some of the ongoing and completed projects of the FNHMA.

Indigenous Health Navigators Project
The project will assess the existing landscape of the IHN role, propose a vision for its future evolution, and identify best practices and accredited training opportunities.
Supporting Data Literacy for First Nations Health Leaders Project
This project aims to support First Nations health and mental wellness leaders in strengthening their skills, confidence, and comfort in working with health data and research.

Pathways to Building Cancer Education
With the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, FNHMA is developing a comprehensive public health workshop focused on the First Nations cancer journey. This curriculum is grounded in the expressed needs of health managers and integrates the theoretical frameworks adopted by the FNHMA project team, such as the Vision Wheel, Two-Eyed Seeing, and Indigegogy.
