Course 100 - The First Nations Health Landscape
Course 100 – The First Nations Health Landscape is the first step in the Certified First Nations Health Manager Program (CFNHMP). This foundational course provides learners with the knowledge and context needed to understand the complex factors that influence First Nations health and health care delivery.
Learners will explore the impacts of history, policy, governance, determinants of health and health systems, while examining how these factors intersect with the realities and priorities of First Nations communities. The course also introduces key concepts in epidemiology, health programs and services, health human resources, accountability and community health planning.
Through a forward-looking lens, learners will consider current issues and emerging trends in First Nations health and explore opportunities to strengthen health systems, improve continuity of care and support healthier communities.
Course 100 lays the foundation for the four courses that follow and for continued growth as a First Nations health leader.
