Course 300 - Effective Programs and Services

Course 300 - Effective Programs and Services

Course 300 – Effective Programs and Services is the third of five courses in the Certified First Nations Health Manager Program (CFNHMP). This course builds the knowledge and practical skills health managers need to develop, deliver and evaluate effective, responsive and community-centred health programs and services.

Learners will explore how understanding community needs, priorities and perspectives can inform every stage of health service development; from planning and communication, to implementation and evaluation. The course emphasizes meaningful community engagement and the importance of ensuring programs and services are relevant, accessible and responsive to those they serve.

Learners will also examine approaches to quality improvement and risk management, gaining tools to strengthen the effectiveness and sustainability of health services.

The course further explores the importance of building and maintaining strong partnerships with communities, organizations and governments. Through advocacy, collaboration and relationship-building, learners will consider how strategic partnerships can help strengthen health service delivery and advance community priorities.

Course 300 equips First Nations health managers with practical approaches to designing, delivering and improving programs and services that respond to community needs and support better health outcomes.
