Course 400 - Efficient Organizations
Course 400 – Efficient Organizations is the fourth of five courses in the Certified First Nations Health Manager Program (CFNHMP). This course focuses on the operational knowledge and practical skills health managers need to effectively manage people, resources and systems that support the delivery of quality health services.
Learners will explore the critical role of human resources and organizational practices, recognizing people as one of an organization’s most valuable resources. The course also examines effective meetings, negotiation and conflict resolution, providing practical approaches to collaboration, decision-making and moving organizational priorities forward.
Financial management and accountability are also key components of the course. Learners will develop an understanding of financial and management accounting, funding arrangements, reporting requirements and proposal development to support sound decision-making and responsible resource management.
The course further explores how technology, information and knowledge management can improve organizational productivity, support service delivery and strengthen the management of financial and health service information. Learners will also examine legal and risk considerations that should be addressed when planning and delivering health services.
Course 400 equips First Nations health managers with the tools to manage people, resources, finances and organizational systems effectively strengthening the operational foundation needed to deliver sustainable, accountable and high-quality health services.
