Financial Management for First Nations Health Services
This one and a half day (1.5) day workshop will focus on financial management activities necessary to support development and delivery of health services. The workshop will address matters that health directors and managers need to have an understanding of and be able to do. The workshop is a blend of large group activities, small group discussions, and individual work. Using an interactive approach that supports the First Nations Health Managers Association Competency Framework, this workshop will help participants achieve the following objectives:
1. Participants will understand the key concepts of funding and proposals; funding and reporting;
financial analysis and reporting; budgeting and variances; accounting basics, policies and procedures; accountability, etc.
2. Participants will apply their knowledge to scenarios with a view to improving health services financial management activities.
The workshop objectives will help you to develop new knowledge and skills so that you will enhance your capacity to plan and manage finances.
