The First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA) is announcing that nominations for three positions on the FNHMA Board of Directors are now open. The Board of Directors guides FNHMA activities and goals each fiscal year and supports FNHMA in their respective regions. Successful nominees must be available to serve a three-year term commencing after the FNHMA Annual General Meeting on November 8, 2023, if elected to their position.
This year's board elections will be held for the following positions:
Alberta
Saskatchewan
Quebec
Nomination submissions to the FNHMA must be based on the following requirements.
Eligibility and Criteria:
Nominees must be members of FNHMA in good standing at the time of nomination and shall have the following:
Advanced health management capabilities in First Nation communities.
Demonstrated health leadership and health management expertise in their organization.
Evidence of modeling their own continuous learning and capacity development and supports continuous learning in their employees; and
Evidence of work and action dedicated to health system improvement and innovation.
To nominate a candidate for any of these positions, please submit a nomination to Gail Boyd, Interim Executive Coordinator, by e-mail at gail.boyd@fnhma.ca or fax to 613-319-8092 by Friday, September 8, 2023, 3:00 p.m. EDT, with the following:

A statement (300 words maximum) outlining why the nominee is deserving of the nomination, how the nominee has satisfied the eligibility and criteria, and the following information about the nominee:

In your nomination, please include the following:
Name and signature of two FNHMA members in good standing supporting the nomination. (A support letter from an employer may be used in lieu of an FNHMA member.)
Name and contact information of the person submitting the nomination form.
Voting will start on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. EDT and closes Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. EDT.
